Mama Afrika offers beautiful wax print family accessories that can be cherished all year round.

Each piece is handcrafted in small series by local Malian women. The wax prints are sourced from local markets in Bamako and transformed into truly unique creations. Every Mama Afrika product contributes to a positive social and economic impact for the women of the Mali-Suisse Association.

Women Behind Mama Afrika

Tina

School & Production Director

The brand works closely with the Mali-Suisse Association, a sewing training center for women founded in 2005. To financially support the “Dembagnouman - Centre de Formation de Couture,” skilled seamstresses create our vibrant accessories and clothing in their atelier, under the guidance of Tina, the school and production director since the beginning.

Production &

Teaching Team

Every Mama Afrika product is sewn by a professional who also works as a teacher at the training center. They pass on their expertise to other women, helping to shape the next generation of seamstresses.

Seamstresses

Students

The women within the organization are given the opportunity to learn a profession and become empowered within their communities and families. To date, the association has trained more than 300 women to a professional level in Mali and contributed to the development of the city’s infrastructure.

Regula

The association is led by Regula, who works together with a dedicated group of Swiss women to keep the organization running on the Swiss side.
